Cookies policy
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the website to remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.
Cookies and local storage used on this site
1. Essential cookies (HTTP-only)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and are set by the server. They cannot be disabled as they are essential for security and event access.
- Event access cookies (event-access-*): maintain your access to password-protected or registration-required events. Duration: 7 days.
- Authentication cookies: maintain your user session if you are logged in. Duration: session-based.
2. Local storage (localStorage) for analytics
This data is stored locally in your browser to analyse site usage and improve user experience. All data is anonymised.
- analytics_visitor_id: unique anonymous identifier generated to distinguish visitors. Retained indefinitely until manual deletion.
- analytics-events: navigation and interaction events (pages visited, clicks, downloads). Maximum 100 events retained.
- Data collected: page views, participant sessions, interactions (clicks, resource downloads), livestream views, chat messages, geographic data (country, city), user agent, UTM parameters.
3. Local storage for functionality
This data allows the website to remember your preferences and navigation state to improve your experience.
- streaming-module-active-tab-*: active tab in the streaming module to resume where you left off.
- chat-anonymous-name-*: display name for anonymous chat participation (if you are not logged in).
- event-completion-status-*: tracking of event sections you have visited.
- floating-mini-player-*: state and position of the floating video player for livestreams.
Retention period
• Event access cookies: 7 days after last visit
• Authentication cookies: session duration or according to security settings
• localStorage data (analytics): retained indefinitely until manual deletion. Analytics events are limited to the last 100.
• localStorage data (functionality): retained until manual deletion or until the event ends
Cookie and local storage management
You can control and manage cookies and locally stored data in several ways:
- Browser settings: you can view, delete, and block cookies through your browser's privacy settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.)
- localStorage data deletion: you can delete localStorage data through your browser's developer tools (F12) or storage settings. Note that this will also remove your navigation preferences.
- Private browsing mode: using private browsing prevents storage of cookies and localStorage data, but some site features may not work correctly.
- Important: deleting event access cookies will log you out of protected events and you will need to log in again or re-enter the password.
